Technical Theater Director

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Technical Theater Director for the school year at a boarding school in Gill, MA.

• Teach several sections of technical theater and design courses for upper school students.
• Collaborate with students and faculty to produce dance, music, and theater productions.
• Oversee the installation of sets, lighting, and technical elements for performances and events.
• Manage and maintain all performing arts spaces, including theaters, black box spaces, and related technical equipment.
• Supervise and mentor students in technical theater disciplines, including set construction, lighting design, sound, and stage management.

• Bachelor's degree in Theater, Education, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience with set design, sound, lighting, and/or stage management required.
• Previous K-12 theater teaching experience strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of technical theater, theater equipment, and best practices.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

• Interest to contribute to school community outside of the classroom as an athletic coach, student advisor, or student club leader.

• Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
