Richmond Consolidated School - Anticipated 1st Grade Teacher Position
Richmond Consolidated School is seeking a dedicated and qualified Elementary 1ST GRADE Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for students in grade 1. The successful candidate will implement educational programs that align with Massachusetts state laws, regulations, and curriculum frameworks while fostering a community of lifelong learners, embracing diversity, and nurturing a culture of care and support.

- Develop and implement lessons that support academic achievement in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies, while addressing diverse learning needs and ensuring all students feel a sense of belonging.
- Create a classroom environment that fosters respect, responsibility, and collaboration, encouraging a love for lifelong learning and a strong community bond.
- Provide differentiated instruction and individualized support for students at varying academic levels, including those with special needs, ensuring every student feels valued and supported.
- Promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development, nurturing each child’s growth within a culture of care and support.
- Use various formative and summative assessments as well as progress monitoring to monitor and report on student progress, adapting instruction as needed to maintain a welcoming and engaging learning environment.
- Establish and enforce classroom policies that align with school guidelines, maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere that encourages a sense of belonging.
- Plan and implement classroom activities that align with students' developmental needs and learning goals, supporting their overall growth in a caring and supportive environment.
- Participate in professional development, in-service training, and program evaluations to continually grow as a teacher and contribute to fostering a community of lifelong learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and parents to build a cohesive and supportive environment, ensuring all voices are heard and respected.
- Integrate technology and resources that support learning and promote student engagement in a manner that encourages lifelong curiosity and learning.
- Ensure the classroom is safe, well-organized, and conducive to learning, reflecting the values of respect, responsibility, and belonging.
- Implement positive discipline strategies and conflict-resolution techniques that emphasize fairness, empathy, and a culture of care.
- Foster a culture of care by building students' self-esteem through positive guidance, nurturing, and encouragement.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress, development, and concerns, promoting open dialogue and a sense of belonging within the school community.
- Provide support and guidance to students with special needs, ensuring they are integrated into classroom activities and feel valued as part of the learning community.
- Supervise students at all times to ensure their safety and well-being, prioritizing their physical and emotional health in a supportive and respectful environment.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other related service providers to ensure a cooperative and inclusive classroom, where every student feels a strong sense of belonging.
