Bus Aides, Bus & Van Drivers Substitutes
School Year (Full and Part-Time hours available)

Assist in providing daily safe transportation of students to and from programs within the town and to other out‑of‑district locations.
Qualifications- Ability to relate well with the public
- Experience working with Special Needs children preferred
- Sign language skills preferred
- CPR and first aid training required
- Bus Driver Substitutes: CDL and medical exam required
- Van Drivers Substitutes: 7D license and medical exam required
- Bus Aides: opportunity to secure 7D license available
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may deem appropriate and acceptable
- Assist the bus/van operator in transporting a small number of handicapped children to and from school
- Ensure pupils are placed on the bus/van safely, are properly seated, and seat belts and/or harnesses are applied
- Serve as a comforting influence during occasional emotional or physical outbursts
- Aid students off/on the bus/van, assisting them into the school or to their homes
- Maintain order on the vehicle at all times

Salary: $18.00 per hour
