Special Education Teacher
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Rutland, MA. The position offers a competitive salary starting at $52,644 per year, increasing with higher education, licensure, and experience up to $74,337.12 per year. A $1,000 sign‑on bonus is provided.
Work schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm. 40+ days off per year (school recess calendar) plus 8 sick days. Benefits include a 403(b) retirement plan (3% employer contribution and optional 2% match), free life insurance (up to 2x salary), comprehensive health plans, disability, dental, vision, and more.
- Prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the MA Curriculum framework and each student’s IEP.
- Supervise and mentor teacher’s aides in the classroom.
- Model positive behavior and work diligently to meet student needs both inside and outside the classroom.
- Complete required documentation and reporting in a timely manner.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- Massachusetts DESE licensure (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time).
- Experience working with youth under 21 who have psychological, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders, including autism spectrum disorders, is preferred.
- Availability to attend a 2‑week paid orientation (Monday–Friday, 8 am–4 pm) in Rutland, MA.
