Location: East Weymouth

School Age Permanent Sub – Weymouth, Quincy, and Randolph locations as needed

$18.69/hour M-F 2:30-6:00

Substitute for center staff in any of the five after school programs and assist in all aspects of the center’s operation. Forty-five week, school year position.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in planning and implementing program goals and objectives.
  • Develop strong positive relationships with each child.
  • Help plan and supervise daily activities.
  • Work directly with children, individually and in groups.
  • Assist in food preparation.
  • Assist in keeping the center clean and organized.
  • Assist in covering a bus route.
  • Greet parents and share children’s interests and activities.
  • Refer parent concerns to Center Director.
  • Attend staff meetings and appropriate trainings.
  • Assist in maintaining behavioral limits and classroom order.
  • All other assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience working with children in formal or informal settings.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to any assigned center.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including early release days and full days during school vacations.
  • High energy, warm and nurturing personality.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Reports to:

Center Director and Assistant Center Director

  • All South Shore Stars employees should be able to lift at least 40 pounds, and work in a non-sedentary environment.
