Join the Lindner Center of Hope as an Admission RN. The position is part‑time 0.3 FTE with a 36‑hour week, working the 1:30 pm – 2:00 am shift, and includes the weekend obligation of every third weekend.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse for the Admission and Clinical Review (ARC) processes admissions based on admission criteria, provides direct professional nursing care to inpatient and residential patients, and ensures an efficient admission process for new patients. The RN demonstrates therapeutic communication, empathy, and a caring approach while collaborating with referral agencies and facility staff to provide outstanding customer service.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Presents patients to physicians for admissions, processes admissions based on criteria, and provides direct nursing care.
  • Accurately assesses the physical, social, and emotional needs of patients and families.
  • Gathers and enters patient information into the electronic medical record system.
  • Enters admission orders, including medications, into the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Completes the entire admission process, including skin assessment, obtaining orders, and initiating the care plan.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, identifies issues, and resolves them within available options.
  • Demonstrates knowledge necessary to care for patients ranging from adolescents to geriatric patients.
  • Functions independently to arrive at appropriate solutions using sound decision‑making and critical nursing thinking skills.
  • Assesses patients for risk of aggressive or escalating behavior.
  • Engages at‑risk patients and applies verbal techniques to de‑escalate rather than using physical intervention.
  • Participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Contributes to building an effective, high‑performing admissions team.
  • Maintains integrity and confidentiality of information.
  • Supports patient and family‑centered care and promotes family involvement in patient care.
  • Provides hand‑off reports to the Patient Care Unit RN.
  • Possesses in‑depth knowledge of LCOH programs and services and promotes them professionally.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with external referrers and facilitates admissions.
  • Schedules patients for assessments following program guidelines.
  • Discusses financial expectations with patients, reviews pricing, and explains payment alternatives.
  • Documents patient presentation concisely and accurately, ensuring timely reflection.
  • Adapts to a changing environment, exhibiting organizational skills and efficiency.
  • Demonstrates sound clinical practices related to nursing care.
  • Participates in departmental staff meetings and in‑service trainings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Ohio; graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Preferred:
    Certification of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the American Nurse Association Credentialing Center.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills for age‑specific and developmentally appropriate care across all admitted populations.
  • Effective leadership skills to work independently and as part of the ARC team.
  • Enthusiastic follower and model of LCOH mission, vision, and values.
  • Professional presentation and ability to relate to diverse backgrounds.
Physical Requirements

Must regularly push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs and stand or walk about 90 % of the shift. Must see, talk, and hear coworkers, patients, and others. All candidates receiving a conditional offer will be subject to a Web Check (BCI & FBI fingerprinting) and additional background checks as required by Ohio law.
