MIG Welders

Overview

SPX Technologies builds innovative solutions in HVAC and Detection and Measurement. Cincinnati Fan, part of Engineered Air Movement, manufactures industrial fans and blowers for OEMs and industrial applications.

As a welder on the Cincinnati Fan team, you will work in production welding, performing MIG tack welding operations to produce functional metal components. You will join a team that focuses on on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Shift options include day shift 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday and 2nd shift 2:30pm-1am Monday-Thursday.

• Follow all safety rules and adhere to core business values.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment.
• Ensure proper operation of machines and tools, reporting any repairs or issues to the lead or supervisor.

• Confirm material sizes and parts match work orders.
• Ensure all parts and surfaces are defect‑free.
• Self‑monitor quality of own work and report defects or operational difficulties.
• Complete tasks within designed quality guidelines.
• Accurately document work performed using required documents and procedures.

• Weld to specifications on mild steel and stainless steel, including vertical up.
• Read blueprints, schematics, work orders, and assembly sketches.
• Coordinate staging and sequencing of parts and product components.
• Prepare metals and work surfaces for production.
• Select appropriate tools, materials, gas ratios, and build fixtures/shipping brackets as needed.
• Transfer completed products to next workstation using cranes and forklifts as needed.
• Perform light maintenance on equipment.
• Complete tasks with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrate desire to do the right thing.
• Be a team player, assisting other team members and departments as needed.
• Be punctual, ready to work the designated shift every day.

• 1 year of MIG welding in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude.

• Basic math skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality within precise limits.
• Forklift certification.
• Overhead crane operation.
• Self‑driven, independent, and team‑oriented.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Solid physical stamina and strength.
• Lifting to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Operation at heights.
• Repetitive motions.
• Exposure to harsh weather, heat/cold, noise.
