Responsibilities- Patient Care – Provide competent technical and clinical services and adapt to daily needs based on CCHMC policy, best practice guidelines and department needs. Assist care providers with procedures and physical exams of patients. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Provide care consistent with family‑centered care and medical home models. Offer culturally competent and responsive care to both patient and family.
Treat families as full partners in decision‑making processes regarding their child’s care. - Customer Service – Act as a customer advocate, strive to meet the needs of patients and families, complete assignments and interact with customers in a courteous, attentive and conscientious manner. Respond quickly to parent requests and concerns and provide appropriate education and information.
- Collaboration – Work collaboratively, follow complex directions, resolve problems and achieve goals. Build positive working relationships with peers and colleagues, acknowledge others’ skills, experience, knowledge and contributions. Share knowledge and provide support to team members and promote a positive professional work environment.
- Data Management – Manage records per department policy, assist with the collection of data for various forms, obtain consent and release of information forms, maintain patient files and records, and adhere to documentation practices with accurate and detailed data entry.
- Laboratory Work and Testing – Manage specimens per protocols when required; maintain knowledge of routine testing processes, retrieve test results, and communicate normal lab results as appropriately delegated.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a medical‑assisting program with no directly related experience, OR completion of a formal medical services training program of the U.S. armed forces, OR one year of work experience in a related discipline.
