Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Mason, Ohio. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of essential accounting functions. This position requires a keen eye for detail and proficiency in handling various bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and update financial records, including managing accounts payable and receivable.

- Record daily financial transactions and ensure entries are correctly posted to the general ledger.

- Generate and distribute customer invoices promptly while verifying billing accuracy.

- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in invoices to ensure proper documentation.

- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely payments.

- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to maintain accuracy in financial reporting.

- Process vendor invoices, payments, and payroll entries efficiently and in compliance with company policies.

- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, to provide insights into company performance.

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure all records are up-to-date.

- Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards in all financial practices. Requirements - Proven experience in bookkeeping and managing financial records.

- Proficiency in Quick Books or similar accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Ability to perform accurate bank and credit card reconciliations.

- Familiarity with preparing financial statements and reports.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Strong analytical abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance standards.
