Curries (an ASSA ABLOY branded company) is looking to add a Safety Manager to our Operations Management team. This position will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility in Mason City, Iowa.

What would you do as our Safety Manager?
This role will serve as our onsite safety expert and partner with the Plant Management team to provide guidance on the overall safety program. You will also be responsible for developing, managing, and executing policies, procedures, and programs to ensure employee safety.
You would also:
- Develop and implement strategies to foster a culture of safety.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and programs are in place to improve safety performance.
- Mentor, develop, and manage safety team members.
- Collaborate with department leaders and employees on safety initiatives.
- Oversee incident investigations to ensure timely reporting, proper investigation, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Maintain safety records, data, and documentation to meet legislative and company requirements.
- Stay informed about relevant safety legislation and communicate updates to management, implementing necessary compliance measures.
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Promote a safe and harmonious working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company standards, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, EHS, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5-7 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or operations environment, with a minimum of 2 years in team management.
- Knowledge of relevant safety laws, codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience working with safety regulatory agencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
