Mercy One North Iowa is the largest provider of health care services in our region and the largest employer in Cerro Gordo County. Our private, not‑for‑profit health care center is licensed for 346 beds and serves more than 400,000 patients each year. We conduct family medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, hospice, palliative medicine, pharmacy residency and a school of radiologic technology. Mercy One North Iowa is a clinical teaching site for approximately 500 students from 127 different colleges.

Join the Mercy One Family! We are looking to hire a Respiratory Therapist.

• Perform incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, pulmonary drainage, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, therapeutic bronchoscopy, intubation assist, extubation, blood gas, outpatient testing and suctioning.
• Assess patients using bedside assessment techniques and knowledge of indications, contraindications and medication reactions. Respond to resuscitation and rapid response pages.
• Perform basic spirometry, electrocardiograms, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Provide patient education and assist with community events related to respiratory care.

• Part‑time, under 32 hours per week
• Full time, 36 hours per week
• Shift: Days or Nights

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science required.
• Graduate of a respiratory therapy program required or board‑eligible within a few months of graduation as certification is required at hire/transfer.
• Credentialed by the NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa required.
• CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire required.
• Must have demonstrated competence in respiratory care.
• Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.
