The Operations Supervisor, Assembly is accountable for the safety, performance and direct supervision of the hourly associates.

Responsibilities
  • Plan manpower assignments and ensure execution of the production schedules in support of the workload ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective use of both human and material resources to meet customer demands
  • Confirms all required documentation and computer entries are completed accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Provides employees in manufacturing with continuous coaching on proper techniques and procedures
  • Performs follow-up checks during the shift and provides management with feedback regarding the performance of individual employees
  • Provide for safety and security of employees and company property by ensuring a safe working environment and assuring that all operations follow all corporate policies and government regulations
  • Handle all day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for personnel related to work performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions per company policy
  • Responsible for meeting all company and department KPI’s
  • Ensures product quality and that all manufacturing activities follow or exceed applicable quality procedures and standards. Must be able to recognize defects or errors in all production work centers
  • Identify, document, and implement procedures to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency
  • Attends and participates in twice per shift daily Operations review to discuss daily performance and actions to address challenges
  • Elevates daily challenges when support is needed
  • Communicates effectively with other department counterparts as well as Operations Manager daily
Skills And Abilities
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Experience with SAP management software systems
  • Ability to achieve results through teamwork – Is open to diverse ideas, works inclusively and collaboratively, holds self and others accountable, and will involves others to accomplish individual and team goals
  • Able to deal with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to drive results, set clear expectations, and solve problems
  • Effective written, oral, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Continuous Improvement background
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to work overtime as needed or adjust shift as necessary
  • Visual aptitude – must be able to see with or without correction
  • Communication – ability to communicate verbally or non-verbally
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 12 hour period
Education/Experience
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in high speed assembly and lean manufacturing or packaging operations preferred
  • TQM, Team Building, self-directed work force experience preferred
  • Experience in maintaining safety programs and developing ergonomic solutions
