Senior Project Manager

The Fordy Group is seeking an experienced Millwright Project Manager to lead critical industrial installation, maintenance, and repair projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership of millwright-specific project delivery, ensuring operational excellence, strict adherence to safety protocols, and financial accountability from planning to client handover.

• Provide comprehensive project leadership for millwright scopes, collaborating with clients, internal crews, and site supervision to establish project objectives, define priorities, and allocate skilled tradespeople effectively.
• Exercise full financial accountability for millwright projects, including developing labor and equipment estimates, budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting to ensure profitability.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of project scheduling, bids, takeoffs, change orders, and contracts to manage scope, mitigate issues, and communicate critical path milestones for machinery installation, alignment, and rigging activities.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships within manufacturing, power generation, and heavy industry to ensure satisfaction and identify new business opportunities for millwright services.
• Strategically plan and mobilize specialized millwright resources, including tools, cranes, rigging gear, and personnel, to meet precise project specifications and deadlines.
• Develop and implement solutions to technical challenges involving heavy machinery, reviewing and applying mechanical drawings, OEM specifications, and alignment calculations in compliance with industry standards.
• Ensure all project activities strictly comply with company policies, customer requirements, and government regulations (including OSHA), with particular emphasis on safe rigging and machinery handling practices.
• Serve as the primary champion for the project safety program, enforcing standards that ensure a safe work environment for all millwrights, apprentices, and subcontractors.
• Deliver regular, detailed project status reports to senior management, focusing on progress against mechanical completion milestones.

• A minimum of 5 years of direct project management experience in the industrial millwright, machinery installation, and precision alignment sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex millwright projects involving conveyors, turbines, presses, pumps, and other rotating/stationary industrial equipment.
• A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in client relationship management and business development for millwright services, with a history of preparing successful competitive bids and quotes.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on process adherence, crew accountability, and effective management of field risks associated with rigging and millwright work.
• A strategic, hands-on mindset, capable of developing detailed project plans while simultaneously building and fostering relationships with clients, crew leads, and equipment vendors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of occupational safety standards and OSHA regulations specifically relevant to industrial construction, millwrighting, and rigging (e.g., LOTO, crane safety, working at heights).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management scheduling software.
