Overview
The Pharmacy Technician II-Medication History works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to obtain medication history information for patients admitted to the hospital. A demanding job that requires great interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with patients and other caregivers. Position is proficient in documentation in Electronic Medical Record. Pharmacy Technician II
- Medication History also performs duties with the pharmacy including, but not limited to, medication distribution, intravenous admixture, pharmacy automation, and general pharmacy service operations. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists in the preparation and distribution of medications utilizing automation, packaging, labeling, charging, compounding, data entry, and delivery This position is employed by Mosaic Life Care.
Details: MV-Pharmacy, PRN Status, Variable Shift, Pay: $19.40 - $28.13 / hour
Responsibilities- Works with pharmacist to determine patient selection for medication history by technician
- Navigates electronic medical record to obtain prior to admission medication list and other pertinent information
- Interviews patient to obtain a current list of medications the patient is taking prior to admission
- Other duties as assigned
- H.S. Diploma required.
- Application with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern (Intern license required if currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy) upon hire is required. Registration (completion) with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician OR Pharmacy Intern (Intern license required if currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy) within 75 days of hire is required.
- Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. Intravenous admixture, unit-dose, pharmacy automation knowledge is preferred.
