Speech Language Pathologist

Nodaway Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treatime residents with commujication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise and resident centered approach will contribute to the overall well-being and quality of life of our residents.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients speech, language, cognitive-commuication, and swallowing abilities
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, patient history, and collaboration with other heathcare professionals
• Implement evidence-based therapy techniques and interventions to enhance residents communication and swallowing skills
• Monitor and documetn residents progress toeards meeting therapy goals and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Educate residents and their families about their conditions, communication strategies, and home exercises to facilitate continuous improvement
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professional to ensure coordinated and comprehensive resident care
• Stay updated with the latest research and developments in speech therapy and evidence-based practices
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements and guidelines pertaining to speech therapy services
• Participate in team meetings, conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills

• Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Certificate of clinical competence in Speech-Language pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Previous exxperince working as a Speech Language pathologist is highly desired
• Knowledge of and exxpertise in evaluating and treating a varity of communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to determine appropriate therapy stategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with residents, families, and colleagues
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-based setting
• Proficient computer skills for documeation and record-keeping purposes
