Pay Information
$36.30 - $41.50

Job Purpose
Technician role critical to manufacturing, maturation, and installation of plastic injection molds, and instrument panel jigs at all auto plants across North America. Support new technology and technology transfer from Japan/North America development teams into production across North America production facilities. Provide production and/or emergency support related to manufacturing issues in support of production.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensures molds, dies, and jigs are running properly for production by following standard procedures.
  • Partners with a more experienced Technician to troubleshoot and repair tooling and leverages knowledge gained from training to begin independent troubleshooting of "low" risk items.
  • Proactively looks for/identifies potential for process and quality improvement and calls to attention of supervisor; may occasionally participate in developing recommendations.
  • Supports new model activity, as assigned by project leader and/or Leadership.
  • Participates in checks, tests, trials etc. under supervision of more experienced Technicians and/or Leadership.
  • Utilizes assistance of other technicians assigned to the job, as appropriate.
Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

Minimum Education al Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience

  • 2 Years of Related Experience (welding, machining, etc.) or qualifying degree.

Other Job‑Specific Skills

  • Welding, Benching, Spotting, Machining (lathe, mill, surface grinder, radial drill), Press Operation, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Troubleshooting.

Working Conditions
Building and maturing tools requires lifting heavy objects, use of overhead cranes, working out of position while in stamping and injection presses (ex: grinding overhead), mandatory travel to plants for install, can average 8-10 hours of overtime weekly (sometimes more), off‑shifts, weekend/shutdown activity based on project need.
