Overview
Description:
We are looking for a Radiology Technologist to join our team at the brand new Memorial Urgent Care location. We are currently offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for this position. We look forward to seeing your application!
- Provide technical radiological services as requested by the patient’s physician to assist in the diagnoses of disease, injury and/or the detection of foreign bodies through radiographic procedures, including chest, abdomen, and extremities. Operate imaging equipment in the prescribed manner to provide high-quality diagnostic images, including proper technique, patient positioning, collimating, shielding, lead markers, and immobilization of the patient as instructed. Perform clinical responsibilities including biohazard waste monitoring, quality control methods, provide pre-exam instructions, and verify patient/caregiver understanding of instructions.
Manage Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) scans and patient reports; maintain film files. - Accompany patients to the exam/procedure room; assist patients as needed with walking, injections, splinting/casting, and point-of-care testing. Collect specimens, prepare patients and rooms for exams, collect and document patient history, perform screenings per provider guidelines, and assist providers with various procedures. Ensure sterilization, instrument wrapping and autoclaving; check vital signs; verify prescriptions with provider orders; apply dressings; manage biohazard waste disposal and monitoring;
support therapeutic modalities; instruct patients on assistive devices, body mechanics, and home care; support laboratory procedures; perform quality control methods; capillary punctures and venipuncture; handle specimens; assist with emergency triage and first aid. - Send/receive patient medical records; complete forms and requisitions as needed; schedule appointments; verify insurance coverage and patient demographics; assist in answering phone calls; manage and update charts to ensure information is complete and filed appropriately; work with third-party representatives to ensure appropriate stock of durable medical equipment, supplies and samples for the office.

- An example of acceptable experience and qualifications
- Completion of secondary education, and a state-approved general radiation protection course
