Lab Tech Assistant| Laboratory, Contingent

We are looking for a Phlebotomist/Lab Tech Assistant to join our full service lab team! We have the following specialties on-site:

• Hematology
• Coagulation
• Urinalysis
• Serology
• Blood Bank
• Microbiology

• Collect blood specimens (e.g., venous, capillary) and urine specimens including proper drug screen collections. May rotate to the off‑site laboratory.
• Perform patient functions in the Hospital Information System (HIS) (e.g., registers, orders, updates, prints labels).
• Perform various lab duties such as centrifuging samples, placing tubes on analyzers (CBC) and other lab duties/testing as deemed competent to perform.
• Answer telephone, take and relay messages; communicate test results. Print daily and final cumulative reports; sort reports and properly distribute.
• Maintain adequate inventory of necessary supplies; order supplies; stock storeroom.
• Assist with training of various college and vocational school students.
• Work flexible hours to adequately staff department.

• Completion of post secondary program in Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant and experience as a laboratory phlebotomist preferred, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• National Phlebotomy Society certification, National Society Clinical Pathology preferred or other assisting certification(s).
