Teacher 1 (Adult Basic Education/GED) -

• Develop lesson plans addressing learners’ needs, including individualized training assignments
• Provide instruction for Adult Basic Education / General Education Development program
• Administer necessary tests
• Evaluate inmates and provide necessary direction
• Maintain discipline and/or security of the instructional area
• Attend education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in‑service training
• Prepare required records and reports
• Maintain inventory and order supplies and materials needed
• Perform other education and/or related duties as requested by education administrators
• Perform other duties as required on assignment

• Baccalaureate degree required. Applicant may possess a Baccalaureate degree & an Adult Educator four‑year permit and/or be eligible to receive a four‑year permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
• Any current Teacher Certificate appropriate grade level to be assigned;
  Teacher 1, 71721, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less.
