Overview:
The PSR II represents the face of our company to patients, supporting both routine health services and critical health decisions. This role involves drawing high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and following established procedures. The PSR II interacts directly with patients, creating trust and confidence while explaining procedures and ensuring safe, accurate phlebotomy. Candidates will demonstrate leadership, process excellence, and strict attention to confidentiality and accuracy.
Assignments may include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe, professional, and clean environment.
Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and initials, including obtaining patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling.
Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Exhibit excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety standards.
Exercise good judgment and follow established procedures.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
Ability to travel and work multiple locations on short notice.
Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Demonstrate superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability, and knowledge of company operations.
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience:
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in retail or service environment highly preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
