Pawnee Mental Health is a mission-driven, non-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) serving 10 counties across North-Central Kansas. We provide behavioral health services to children and families who need support the most, and we are actively seeking compassionate professionals who want meaningful, hands-on work in their community.

Why Our Client Support Providers Matter

As a Client Support Provider, you will work directly with both youth and adults who are experiencing mental health or behavioral health challenges that impact their daily functioning. In this role, you will provide skill-building, emotional support, and peer-based encouragement to help individuals build stability, independence, and confidence in their lives.

This position also includes a peer support component.
Candidates must have lived experience with a behavioral health or mental health condition and be in stable recovery. Your personal experience, combined with professional training, will help foster hope, connection, and trust with the individuals you serve.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-based work, values recovery-focused care, and wants a position that feels meaningful at the end of each day.

What You’ll Do as a Client Support Provider:
  • Provide direct services and peer support to children and adults in homes, schools, and community settings
  • Use lived experience in appropriate, recovery-focused ways to support client growth and stability
  • Develop and implement individual and group activities based on person-centered treatment plans
  • Support clients in managing triggers, stressors, and crisis situations to promote safety and independence
  • Advocate for client rights, dignity, and community inclusion while supporting medication compliance as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation, participate in supervision and trainings, and coordinate schedules and transportation

Requirements Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Lived experience with a behavioral health or mental health condition and demonstrated stable recovery
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license and required insurance
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Preferred:

  • Post-secondary education in a human services field
  • Related work or volunteer experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
