Job Overview
Join our team in Sparks, MD, where you'll perform both physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. You'll be responsible for checking goods received and distributed against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records of goods, and rejecting unsatisfactory items. This role also involves cycle counting activities, packaging, preparing products for final shipment, and posting weights and shipping charges.
Forklift certification is required. You'll prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped and review customer orders, examining, stocking, and distributing merchandise in inventory warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing lines. Additionally, you'll oversee domestic and non-domestic receiving and shipping responsibilities and resolve complex issues associated with material/warehouse operations.
- Perform administrative and physical tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, staging, and supplying materials (raw, work-in-process, and finished goods), parts, and supplies to operators, workstations, and distribution centers.
- Prepare goods for shipment to the distribution center.
- Complete all necessary SAP Training to obtain the necessary profiles.
- Order required materials from outside vendors and offload all deliveries, processing goods receipts for the deliveries.
- Physically locate materials in the warehouse and perform transactions in SAP to locate them in the system.
- Conduct bin-to-bin transfers for all moves from the warehouse to the PSA’s.
- Hand load carts/racks equipment and deliver to production areas.
- Run Material Staging in SAP.
- Evaluate all production schedules and determine materials needed from outside vendors.
- Maintain required levels of materials in the various PSA’s.
- Demonstrate knowledge of receiving and/or distribution functions and familiarity with computer warehousing systems, potentially using UPS systems.
- Conduct cycle counts to maintain accurate inventories.
- Use independent judgment in troubleshooting and problem-solving with little/no supervision.
- Provide support to lead and/or supervisor when necessary.
- Offer training support for onboarding and/or new procedures.
- Support special projects as needed.
- Follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Adhere to all Client housekeeping and safety policies and procedures.
- Work overtime as required to meet Client business requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High school diploma with 4 years of experience, including a minimum of 1 year in SAP and forklift operations.
- Experience with material handling equipment (pallet jacket, forklift, shrink wrapper).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Forklift Certification required.
- Certification in Dangerous Goods (DG), including IATA, DOT DG, or IMDG.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP required.
Basic Skills:
- Ability to work on assignments that are manual and routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification.
- Effective team communication across the department.
- Maintain neat, accurate, and complete records and logs, both manually and electronically on a personal computer.
- Manage frequent assignment changes effectively.
Proficient/Working Skills:
- Proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams, and perform basic arithmetic.
- Basic proficiency with PCs and basic use of Windows environment required.
- Use independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot, and problem solve.
- Ability to work in a repetitive work environment and stand for long periods of time.
