Non CDL Yard Driver

Immediate opening for a Full Time Forklift Operator / Back Up Yard Driver at Ryder in Port Deposit, MD.

• Hourly Pay: $21.50
• PM Shift Differential: $1.00 per hour
• Yard Pay Differential: $7.00 per hour

• Schedule:
  
  Thursday - Saturday, 6:00 AM start
• Hours per week: 40 + hours
• Trucks: 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers in the yard (no public road driving).
• Assist with warehouse work as needed.
• Comply with safety & DOT regulations, continuous training, and customer service.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and yard inventory records.
• Detect and mitigate safety hazards, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards.
• Maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records. Other tasks as assigned.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Verifiable driving experience with similar equipment:
  • 9 months experience in the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
