Job Description
ERG is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Technician to support the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems at client facilities. This role is critical to ensuring life safety, regulatory compliance, and system reliability across assigned sites. The position is full‑time at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head, Maryland, approximately 30 miles from Washington, D.C.; 25 miles from Alexandria, Virginia;
and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, Virginia.
- Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, applicable codes, and client requirements.
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
- Identify deficiencies, troubleshoot system issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Accurately document inspection results, deficiencies, and completed work.
- Coordinate with project managers, site personnel, and inspectors as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and site‑specific requirements.
- Undergo a pre‑employment physical exam and participate in medical surveillance programs as required.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; work may occur in areas with potentially harmful physical and chemical agents.
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of 2+ years of experience inspecting, installing, or maintaining fire sprinkler systems.
- NICET Level I certification (current or obtainable). Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret‑level security clearance.
- Proficient in installing or modifying copper, black iron, and galvanized steel sprinkler piping.
- Knowledge of applicable NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 13, 25) and ability to read and interpret system drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear; navigate stairs where applicable.
- U.S. citizenship; position not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations.
- NICET Level II and III certifications.
- State or local fire sprinkler technician license.
- Experience working in industrial, federal, or secured facilities.
- Experience with the Navy or Department of Defense is strongly preferred.
Salary: $65,000 – $100,000 per year.
