About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hands‑on Network Installation Technician to join our growing field team. In this role, you’ll be driving to local commercial job sites across the MD/DC/VA area to install network racks, run and terminate cable, mount equipment, and walk through a clear commissioning checklist to bring systems online. The vast majority of the work is day trips, you will be home almost every night.
This is a great fit for someone who is comfortable working in commercial buildings, likes variety in their day, and takes pride in doing clean, organized work. If you’ve pulled cable, set up network gear, or worked in construction or facilities — we want to hear from you. Full training is provided on our systems and processes.
What You’ll Do- Drive to local commercial job sites (hospitals, office buildings, stadiums) in the MD/DC/VA
- Run, terminate, and test ethernet, coaxial, and fiber optic cables through commercial buildings.
- Install network racks, switches, and equipment in equipment rooms and on walls/ceilings.
- Follow a step‑by‑step commissioning checklist to bring systems online and verify everything is working.
- Work alongside and help coordinate a small crew of 1–2 other technicians on site.
- Take photos, fill out paperwork, and document your work as you go.
- Serve as the main point of contact on‑site for the customer and our project manager.
- Keep the job site clean, safe, and organized throughout the project.
- Troubleshoot basic issues in the field and elevate to the engineering team when needed.
Experience (3–6+ years in any of the following)
- Pulling, running, and terminating cable in commercial buildings (ethernet, coax, or fiber)
- Installing IT equipment, AV systems, security systems, or low‑voltage systems
- Construction, facilities, or building trades with some technology exposure
- IT field technician, network technician, or similar hands‑on technical role
- Basic networking knowledge – understanding of switches, IP addresses, and how network equipment connects
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scissor lifts
- Ability to read simple floor plans and installation drawings
- Experience with cable termination and testing is a plus (we can train the right person)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (company vehicle provided)
- OSHA 10 certification required – if you don’t have it, we’ll help you get it
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and be on your feet throughout the day
- Comfortable working in varied environments including hospitals, office buildings, and stadiums
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Monday–Friday, day shift (8‑hour shifts)
- Local travel to job sites in MD, VA, DC
- Overtime and occasional weekends based on project needs
