OverviewIn this role, use your welding, fitting, and fabrication skills to create solutions on the spot for customer design and functionality issues. Since much of your work will be solution-based, you’ll often be working without plans or drawings, putting your expertise to the test and coming up with creative fixes on the fly.
You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across industries such as industrial construction, manufacturing, power plants, commercial sites, and more. From installations and repairs to alterations, you will tackle different challenges each day and make a real impact for our customers.
We are looking for someone who has a thorough understanding of industrial welding and can bring that knowledge to every project. This position involves a flexible schedule, including extensive travel and out-of-town work. You’ll need to be ready to work extended hours when necessary, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and even possible night shifts.
What You’ll Do- Provide non-certified welding services to construction trades and to various construction, industrial, and mechanical projects
- Perform general labor for a variety of skills such as concrete work, rebar, masonry, welding, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, etc. as required
- Weld using different techniques such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and oxygen acetylene cutting
- Perform layouts, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly
- Read welding blueprints
- Resolve and repair design issues by making alterations to existing equipment as needed
- Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
- Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
- Work in extreme temperature conditions and environments
- Perform work at a variety of heights
- 2+ years of industrial welding experience preferred
- AWS D1.1 Certification required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to weld components in all positions required (flat, vertical, and overhead)
- Possess proven SMAW (Stick) welding skills and GTAW (TIG) welding skills - testing required
- Must be able to effectively design, modify, measure, determine proper angling, fabricate, and weld steel and piping
