Position OverviewThe general role of a Journeyman Electrician is to work in conjunction with Electricians and Electrical Foremen to install, maintain, and repair various electrical components within customer locations. This position will lead and mentor entry‑level electricians such as Apprentices. The role involves low‑ and high‑voltage applications across industries including construction, manufacturing, power plants, commercial, aggregate, oil and gas, coal, wind energy, etc.
Must be flexible, willing to travel with overnight stays, and work extended hours as needed. The Journeyman Electrician will report to the Department Manager – Electrical and work primarily out of the assigned area.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities.
- Install basic and more complex electrical components such as motor control centers, transformers, instrumentation, switch gears, PLC controls, etc.
- Run conduit and cable trays to electrical devices.
- Pull wire to termination boxes, panels, and other controllers.
- Load and unload tools, materials, equipment, and other supplies.
- Read and follow electrical code, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other electrical specifications.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues, systems, and components independently with minimal direction and supervision.
- Drive ground rods and install grounding grids.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment pertinent to the trade.
- Assess jobs as needed to determine material, tool, and equipment requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate with customers to ensure successful job completion.
- Lead smaller jobs as required.
- Assist with paperwork and documentation for accurate record keeping.
- Lead and mentor entry‑level electricians such as Apprentices.
- 3+ years of electrical experience or equivalent/relevant education.
- Experience in industrial electrical work preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Possess a Journeyman License (WV preferred) and required to obtain WV Journeyman License within 6 months of hire.
- Basic knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code), electrical theory, and AC & DC circuits.
- Ability to utilize tools and diagnostic devices relevant to the electrical trade.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, circuitry, and schematics.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others and act respectfully toward co‑workers and customers.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
