Like other security officers, a casino security officer protects his employer's property from vandalism, theft and other illegal activity. Officers may do this while patrolling the grounds or while stationed at a static position. Casino security officers also protect the Casino’s assets during transport.
Interacting with the general public is a big part of a casino security officer's regular routine. Not only does the officer safeguard patrons and their property, officers are expected to assist guests whenever asked. This includes greeting visitors, giving directions and escorting motorists to their car if need be.
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; controls access to ensure that employees and visitors display proper passes or identification before entering the facility
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers if deemed necessary
- Security officers are called upon to respond to potential hazards (such as broken lights or doors, disturbances, lost items, minor injuries, etc.) and to assist in serious emergencies (medicals, fires, crime, etc.) by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, helping to redirect foot traffic to safe locations
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures
- Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
- Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Walk, sit, stand, stoop, bend, climb stairs and ladders
- Perform moderately demanding physical duties that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and /or pulling of reasonably heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds)
- Must be 18 y/o or older
- Must be able to pass background checks for TSA, Coast Guard and BCSO
- Must be able to pass drug test
For this position you must be cleared of all arm, hand, face & neck tattoos.
Youwillbe required to obtain a TWIC and MMC. Acceptable documents to obtain badging are Passport
OR Government issued photo copy of Birth Certificate. Supporting documents would be needed for a name change.
