Insight Global is seeking a Research Technician with an active Secret clearance to support a federal client in a laboratory setting in Aberdeen, MD. This role involves hands-on research with animal models, surgical support, and experimental data analysis in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct animal care and research procedures including movement, feeding, behavioral training, surgery, and bio-sampling (blood, CSF, urine, etc.).
Support surgical operations and maintain aseptic conditions for vascular access ports in non-human primates (NHPs).
Perform necropsies and tissue harvesting; ensure proper disposal of animal remains.
Maintain and calibrate specialized lab equipment and behavioral testing tools.
Execute biochemical, pharmacological, physiological, and behavioral experiments in collaboration with Principal Investigators.
Analyze experimental data using custom and commercial software tools; create visual and written summaries of findings.
Assist in implementing new technologies and experimental methods relevant to medical defense research.
Conduct solubility studies and assess safety/efficacy of therapeutic compounds via various administration routes.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.
Knowledge of pharmacology and neuroscience, especially in medical defense research.
Experience executing animal use protocols; NHP handling preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to new research projects and team environments.
Direct experience with operant in vivo behavioral training/testing.

Preferred Experience:

1+ years in animal or husbandry research.
Familiarity with Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) guidelines.

Experience with solubility studies and therapeutic compound testing. Why Join Us?

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
