The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for the monitoring and advancement of our food safety and quality programs. Throughout daily process checks as well as short‑ and long‑term projects, the QA Supervisor will ensure that all procedures meet regulatory compliance, so that our products are a safe quality product for our consumers. This position is also responsible for the daily functioning of the lab, including but not limited to employee development, safety, continuous improvement, data analysis, problem solving, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise daily QA activities, including sampling, testing, and documentation for products.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards, as well as company policies and customer requirements.
- Maintain and enforce Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) guidelines.
- Monitor production processes to identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and develop preventive measures.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure consistent product quality.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present quality reports to management.
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Train, mentor, and supervise QA technicians and staff.
- Schedule and manage QA team activities to ensure coverage across shifts.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and food safety awareness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance within the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industry; dairy experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory quality role.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, cGMP, FSMA, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
