QA Facility Supervisor at Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream

Job OverviewThe Quality Supervisor ensures compliance with food safety regulations, monitors production processes, and implements quality control measures to maintain the highest standards in ice‑cream production. They work closely with production, R&D, and regulatory teams to ensure consistency and excellence in the final product.
Responsibilities- Lead by example in carrying out all duties under operational quality and food safety policies and procedures.
- Promote a culture of behavioral quality improvements.
- Provide expertise to operations for executing quality initiatives that deliver an exceptional ice‑cream experience.
- Direct and supervise quality specialists and techs to ensure daily activities promote production of quality ice‑cream products on the lines.
- Partner with operations management on key quality checks for line operators and evaluate checks periodically.
- Manage quality hold program and partner with operations to complete lessons learned, implement corrective actions, and provide trend data.
- Provide leadership on customer complaint reduction, using complaint trend data to prioritize actions.
- Oversee and provide leadership on net content to establish facility‑specific rules for volume and weight targets.
- Support TAG in new product launches or formulation when requested.
- Identify, communicate to plant operations and apply best practices within the facility or from the broader network.
- Drive improvements and monitor quality metrics/KPIs at the facility.
- Challenge all departments on quality and food safety related matters.
- Provide support to GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FSP compliance across the facility, coaching operators and promoting minimal water use.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audits (e.g., FSSC 22000/market audits).
- Support local, state, and federal agencies when requested by local quality management.
- Drive monthly reviews of KPIs and contribute toward meeting yearly business goals.
- Monitor and assess performance of quality systems, report effectiveness to management and implement improvement actions.
- Represent The Froneri Way through behaviors and characteristics in our operating model and core values.
- Reduction in CPMU.
- Respect for GMP and distribution of lessons learned.
- Reduction of pallets on holds.
- Reduction of food safety incidents.
- Presence on the shop floor making ice‑cream.
- Improvements from benchmarking.
- Deploy QA standards.
- Achieve QA targets defined at market level (CPMU, RFT, CRQS…).
- Hold program.
- Net content execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the dairy or frozen food industry.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in quality control software and reporting tools.
- Stay committed to responsibilities from start to finish.
- Make sound decisions and get into the right level of detail.
- Apply resources to initiatives that add growth, improve efficiencies, or reduce waste.
