Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital – DVM/VMD Extern

Buckeystown, Maryland – a small animal practice located just outside Frederick, offering comprehensive wellness, preventive care, boarding, grooming and training services.

We are seeking a recent graduate or experienced general practice veterinarian to join our 4‑doctor practice for a structured externship. The extern will rotate through small animal general practice, canine rehabilitation, and mixed animal services. The extern will gain experience with exotics, equines, farm animals, and advanced rehabilitation techniques including an underwater treadmill.

• Provide clinical care in a mixed animal setting.
• Assist with wellness and preventive care, boarding, grooming, and training services.
• Participate in canine rehabilitation and advanced therapeutic modalities.
• Work with exotics, equines, and farm animals under mentorship.

• Currently enrolled in an AVMA–accredited veterinary school (VMD or DVM path).
• Strong interest in small animal, mixed animal and rehabilitation medicine.

• Stipend to offset housing and travel costs.
