Location: Mays Chapel

Summary

Put your nursing expertise to work at a Magnet-designated, university-affiliated hospital located just six blocks from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor by joining the team at Mercy Medical Center’s Out‑patient Chemotherapy Clinic
. Our clinical nurses (RN) in OP Chemotherapy independently provide care to adult patients with a focus on medical and surgical oncologic specialties such as breast, GYN and neuroendocrine tumors. Working with a dedicated team, the RN provides evidence‑based, high quality care, including patient assessment and treatment, and serves as a resource for other team members.

Responsibilities
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire
  • Provide patient assessment and treatment for adult oncology patients
  • Serve as a resource for the multidisciplinary team
Requirements
  • Education and Work Experience
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam
    • BSN preferred
    • 1‑2 years of clinical nursing experience in oncology, strongly preferred
    • Oncology Nurse Certified (OCN) preferred or agreement to certify within one year of hire
    • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider certification within 6 months of hire
    • Obtain 20 contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused; academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange.
  • Certification Requirements
    • Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire
    • Specialty

      Certifications:

      PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, Angiography, Lung Center, McAuley Surgery Center – ACLS within 1 year of hire or 6 months of promotion
    • ED – ACLS within 6 months of hire/promotion & ENPC or PALS within 1 year
    • Mother/Baby, NICU/PEDS – NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion
    • Labor & Delivery – NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) within 1 year of hire
    • Telemetry – ACLS within 1 year of hire, within 18 months of hire if new grad
    • Chemotherapy Clinic (Out‑patient Chemo) – ONS certification within 6 months of hire and OCN certification within 1 year of hire
