Overview
UM, Capital Region Medical Group, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join its thriving practice at UM Capital Region Hospital at its new State‑of‑the‑Art Facility in Largo, MD. The CNM provides outpatient midwifery care at several office locations and a mobile unit serving underserved populations.
ResponsibilitiesThe Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive patient care under the direction of a supervising physician, managing complex antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Responsibilities include admission, monitoring, reporting progress, discharge planning, and follow‑through.
Qualifications Education- Master’s Degree – Midwifery (Required)
- Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Master’s Degree (Preferred)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Certified Nurse Midwife (Required)
- Maryland CDS license (Required)
- Maryland State DEA license (Required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)
- Registered Nurse Certified (Required)
- NCC EFM Certification (Required within 3 months of hire)
- 2 - 4 years Midwifery experience (Preferred)
- 0 - 1 year Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections (Preferred)
- 0 - 1 year Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound (Preferred)
- Required Skills:
Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills, Proven Analytical Skill
- Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
- Hears alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice
Pay Range: $67.53 - $85.46
