Jesus the Good Shepherd Church in Owings Maryland is hiring a part-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry.
This role is 15 hours per week and will report to the Pastor.
The hourly pay for this role is $20-$25 per hour.

The Coordinator supports and oversees all functions associated with the Active Catholic Teens (ACT) youth group for 9th – 12th grade. Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following.
Must be physically present for all sessions on Sunday evenings, parent meetings, rehearsals and other parish events as needed. If on occasion the coordinator is not able to be physically present, he/she must have a known representative present.
Duties And Responsibilities- Responsible for recruiting and training volunteers and aides for programs and/or sessions.
- Responsible for the registration process, scheduling of sessions, and maintenance of paper and electronic records (including but not limited to payments, Child Protection, parish membership status, sacramental requirements, photo release, medical/allergy information and permission forms).
- Plan and attend a yearly religious/fellowship retreat for ACT.
- Plan and physically attend up to two, week-long summer mission trips with the help of a volunteer team. Format may vary, including traditional plan: work with a Glenmary Home Missioners parish to host a Vacation Bible School (and build community) for underserved children and their families in rural America.
- Select curriculum resources; communicate to volunteers and train as needed; order materials and supplies in a timely manner.
- Communicate with the Pastor, Parish staff, Academy faculty/staff and Parish families. Work with the Parish office for bulletin announcements and space reservations.
- Communicate with parishioners, ministry leaders, and participating teens & families through Gmail, Flocknote, the bulletin and signage as needed.
- Prepare, track and maintain annual budget for program.
- Assist other parish ministry leaders in supporting youth-based activities that may serve as feeder programs to the ACT youth ministry program. Assist in the leadership of an annual Confirmation retreat. Work with other parish ministries to financially support youth ministry programs.
Two to five years of ministry experience is preferred.
Must be proficient in technology use including Microsoft Office and all forms of social media.
