The Jewish Federation of Howard County (JFHC) is seeking a dynamic and visionary President/CEO to lead our growing, diverse community into its next chapter. As the primary driver of our mission, you will translate strategy into tangible action, ensuring the long‑term health and vibrancy of Jewish life in Howard County.

Our Strategic Purpose -We build community by caring for, supporting, and enriching Jewish life within Howard County. The Federation welcomes all individuals who consider Howard County their Jewish community to participate in, volunteer for, or contribute financially to Federation programs and activities.
Executive Impact & Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Governance- Visionary Growth:
Partner with the Board to define and execute short- and long‑term goals that adapt to an ever‑changing landscape. - Board Partnership:
Lead strategic planning, assist with Board recruitment, and ensure organizational compliance with all bylaws and policies. - Culture Catalyst:
Foster a culture of excellence, transparency, and teamwork among staff, volunteers, and the Board.
- Public Face:
Serve as the professional spokesperson for the Federation and the key responder to antisemitism within the community. - Coalition Building:
Develop constructive relationships with Jewish organizations, faith leaders, and civic officials across Maryland. - Advocacy:
Represent Jewish causes and values to government officials and at community events.
- Fundraising Strategy:
Oversee the annual campaign, legacy giving, and special campaigns in collaboration with the Development Director. - Financial Sustainability:
Identify and secure public/private grants and manage sponsor ships.
- Financial Stewardship:
Develop and monitor the annual operating budget while maintaining rigorous financial controls. - Team Leadership:
Oversee the hiring, performance, and professional development of the JFHC staff.
- 5–8 years of experience in Jewish Federations or non‑profit fundraising, including significant supervisory roles.
- Demonstrated success in managing annual operating budgets and securing diverse funding streams.
- Ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors to carry out an organization’s mission.
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in current multi‑media communication and CRM software (preferably Donor Perfect).
- A deep commitment to Jewish culture, values, traditions, and celebrations.
- Superior skills in cultivating and stewarding relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- A flexible, creative thinker who can pivot resources to meet emerging challenges.
This role offers a salary of $125,000–$140,000
