Overview
Position Title Graduate Coordinator for the Center for Service & Justice
Job Description The Graduate Coordinator provides hands-on support for the Center’s programs by managing logistics, maintaining relationships with community partners, and assisting with volunteer recruitment and training. The primary functions of the coordinator will be the management of Mount Table, the university’s on-campus free supplementary food resource, and providing support for the Rother Immersion program. The Graduate Coordinator reports directly to the Director of the Center for Service & Justice.
Responsibilities- Handle logistics, recruitment, scheduling, and transportation for premier Center for Service programs.
- Serve as the contact for community partners.
- Develop a database of community partners for both internal and external use.
- Engage in consistent assessment of community partner needs and the relationship with the Mount.
- Recruit and support student volunteers and leaders.
- Manage Mount Table operations, including running donations, scheduling, volunteer recruitment, intern and volunteer management, and data collection.
- Oversee the Rother Immersions and manage student leader development in support of the service immersion program.
- Contribute to marketing and promotion of events.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with budget tracking.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Must be enrolled in a graduate degree program at Mount St. Mary’s University
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with event coordination, marketing, and/or logistics planning is preferred.
- Ability to deliver training presentations and programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, constituents, and volunteers.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is required.
- A stipend of $10,000 per academic year (prorated by semester).
- 20 hours per week for 12 months (note: position not eligible for student break schedule as this is a part-time regular employment opportunity)
