Production Worker, 1st Shift

We are looking for self‑motivated and safety‑conscious candidates who would like to join our production team.

New employees can earn $82k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50‑hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

Position is full‑time with benefits.

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00‑2:30 pm;
  Saturday 6:00‑12:00 pm.
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 3:00‑11:30 pm;
  Saturday 12:00‑6:00 pm.
• Occasional weekend availability needed; must be able to work all schedules.

• Performs production welding in a fast‑paced environment.
• Reads and interprets weld symbols on shop drawings and blueprints.
• Ensures all welds are complete and of good quality; repairs bad welds as necessary.
• Maintains a positive, clean and orderly work environment.
• Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of area.
• Works in a safe and productive manner.
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to; cleaning, steel scrap removal, and other production related jobs.

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three years of experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

• The ability to stand continuously, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently reach overhead with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
• Climb or balance frequently.
• Capable of lifting 60 lbs or more.
• Close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

• Open shop environment – may be exposed to cold and hot work spaces.
• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Noise in the work environment is generally very loud.

Pay: $20.07 per hour + production bonuses and OT as needed.
