Job Summary
Production Technician will work in our Production Department in Accident, MD. The role will construct and manufacture metal parts and products, assemble sub‑assemblies, and assist downstream work centers such as wiring, crating, test, and service as needed. The position will follow blueprints, determine material measurements, fabricate parts, perform simple tests to ensure quality, and report to the Production Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions- Fabricate and weld most products in the Phenix line, both standard and non‑standard.
- Assemble and build Variac and tap switch components and small sub‑assemblies.
- Assemble doors and windows on rubber goods units.
- MIG, TIG, stick, aluminum, and plastic weld.
- Exceed expectations in quality, accuracy, and completion within allotted time.
- Assist test and service departments with assembly of large resonant sets and switch gear on and off site.
- Answer questions and guide other team members.
- Fabricate metal parts, cabinets, frames, fiberglass, and tanks for later assembly.
- Understand blueprints to ensure exact specifications.
- Produce strong, neat, clean welds.
- Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines with the same job.
- Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
- Complete assembly and wiring of small standard jobs.
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Plan proper sequence of tasks.
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Conserve materials by minimizing waste.
- Check output for quality assurance and document or discard defects.
- Identify and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Follow safety regulations such as wearing heat‑resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
- Assist in the crating/shipping department as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- HS Diploma or GED. Additional equivalent experience may replace required education.
- Trade or technical school preferred but not required.
- 9+ years of welding experience (MIG, TIG, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing).
- Experience with sawing, plasma, and torch cutting.
- Experience performing self‑directed layout work.
- Experience shearing, drilling, and bending metal to specifications.
- Excellent blueprint reading and knowledge of common welding symbols.
- Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
- Proficient in math.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
Requires standing, sitting, using computers, reading, writing, typing, using copy machines, filing paperwork, using telephones, and interacting with clients. Reasonable accommodations may be made. Must lift 30 pounds; assistance required for 50 pounds or more.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job‑related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $23.40 - Midpoint $29.25
