Location: Andrews AFB
Duties Help The primary purpose of this position is:
To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to test, troubleshoot, repair and modify aircraft fuel distribution systems, repair leaks of external/integrated tanks, and provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth therein. DUTIES:
* Conducts scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and periodic inspections on all pneudraulically operated systems on/off aircraft in accordance with established procedures.
* Performs troubleshooting of complex integrated pneudraulic systems of related on/off equipment for assigned and/or transient aircraft to include support equipment.
* Performs off-equipment maintenance and bench checks to support the repair cycle. Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures to maintain a safe and clean work area.
* Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training for all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military. Reviews, verifies and documents aircraft forms, component forms/tags and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to reflect maintenance actions performed on and off equipment. QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-8200 Fluid Systems Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
2. Skill and knowledge in the use of standard hand and power tools/equipment, materials accounting and security.
3. Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical data, and Knowledge of USAF Technical Order Program and its procedures.
4. Ability to install aircraft pneudraulic systems, equipment or accessories.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of operation, capabilities and limitations of aircraft pneudraulic systems. Ability to use a variety of test and measurement equipment, ability to test complete pneudraulic systems.
6. Ability to document in aircraft forms/MIS, clean work area and/or job site upon completion of work. Ability to overhaul, repair, calibrate or fabricate aircraft pneudraulic equipment. Ability to troubleshoot aircraft pneudraulic equipment of moderate complexity. Knowledge of safety and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations and technical orders. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy lifting (45-79 pounds). Moderate lifting (15-44 lbs). Light lifting (under 15 lbs). Moderate carrying (15-44 lbs). Light carrying (under 15 lbs). Pushing and pulling. Reaching above shoulder. Use of fingers, both hands, arms, legs and feet are required. Walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, bending and climbing are required. Operation of special purpose and/or motor vehicles. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required. Depth perception. Ability to distinguish basic colors. Hearing (with or without aid). ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Work is performed in hangar areas, outdoors, in/on aircraft, and sometimes in hazardous noise areas. Exposed to extremes in heat, cold, humidity and inclement weather. Must work in confined areas and in awkward positions. Exposed to bodily fluids, dirt, grease, and aircraft fluids (oil, hydraulic, fuel, sealants, solvents, hazardous fluids, particulates, and gases).
