Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator

Annapolis Junction, MD, United States. Full‑time onsite role, 5 days per week.

Maximus is seeking an accomplished Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator to manage and optimize RHEL infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and performance.

• Manage and support RHEL‑based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Perform system administration tasks for RHEL 7.x/8.x, including setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Monitor and analyze system performance to identify and bottlenecks, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Execute system backup and recovery operations to ensure data protection and high availability.
• Assess and recommend hardware and software solutions to address business needs and improve the RHEL server environment.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Tenable, HP Web Inspect, and similar platforms.
• Investigate security incidents, assess risks, and design mitigation strategies, implementing proactive and reactive measures to enhance security.

• Secret clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience as Linux/Red Hat system administrator.
• Onsite government facility with five‑day per week presence.
• Participation in a rotational on‑call schedule for emergency page‑outs.

• Certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are preferred.
