Summary

Are you a detail-oriented, people-focused student exploring a career in Human Resources? The JCC is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support our summer hiring and onboarding process. This role provides hands‑on experience in recruitment operations, onboarding administration, and HR systems management within a fast‑paced camp environment.

The HR Intern will work closely with the Human Resources Generalist and HR team to support seasonal hiring efforts and ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience for summer staff.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical HR experience while developing professional communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

What you will do
  • Support the end-to-end onboarding process for seasonal employees, including distributing, tracking, reviewing, and organizing new hire documentation (digital and in‑person forms).
  • Monitor completion of required onboarding paperwork and follow up with staff regarding outstanding items.
  • Enter and maintain accurate employee data within HRIS and camp management systems.
  • Assist with recruitment‑related administrative tasks as needed.
  • Provide responsive and professional communication to seasonal staff, camp directors, and internal departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Support additional HR projects and administrative tasks as assigned.
Who you are Education & Experience
  • High school diploma required
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Professional judgment and problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable working with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software systems quickly
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Fast‑paced, high‑energy environment with frequent staff interaction
  • Summer environment may include moderate to loud noise levels
  • Primarily seated work with regular use of a computer and phone
  • Frequent use of hands for typing and handling paperwork
  • Occasional standing, reaching, and light lifting (up to 10 pounds)
