Overview
The Human Resources Generalist, Learning & Development (Hybrid) will support a wide range of HR functions with a primary focus on learning and development initiatives. Key responsibilities include administering HR and learning systems, coordinating employee training and development programs, supporting onboarding and retention efforts, and assisting with compliance and reporting. This role also provides day-to-day HR support to employees and leaders, ensuring alignment with organizational policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
The HR Generalist plays a critical role in fostering employee growth, engagement, and continuous learning across the organization.
This position follows a hybrid work model, with the expectation to be onsite at our Point of Rocks, MD location up to three (3) days per week, or as determined by your manager based on team and business needs. The remaining days may be worked remotely. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Point of Rocks, MD location.

- Lead the design, coordination, and facilitation of training and development programs that build leadership capability, support career growth, and reinforce a culture of continuous learning.
- Coordinate planning onsite training events, scheduling sessions, managing logistics, and ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Partner with managers and leaders to identify training needs, track participation, and report on learning outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Administer HR and L&D systems, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and HRIS, to maintain accurate training records, certifications, and performance data.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on development opportunities, performance management tools, and survey feedback to support employee engagement and retention.
- Coordinate and oversee talent management programs, partnering with leaders to identify high-potential employees, create development plans, and build succession pipelines.
- Research and recommend best practices, new technologies, and innovative approaches to enhance employee learning, recognition, and overall HR program effectiveness.
- Develop, distribute, and analyze pre- and post-training surveys to measure effectiveness and improve future learning initiatives.
- Collaborate on the communication, rollout, and reporting of company-wide HR programs and initiatives to ensure consistent understanding and adoption across the workforce.
- Support compliance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment regulations and ensuring HR programs and training initiatives adhere to legal and organizational requirements.
- Lead or support special HR initiatives including employee engagement surveys, 360-degree feedback programs, performance management review processes, and open enrollment activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- 5 or more years of experience in human resources and a high school diploma or equivalent or a bachelor s degree in human resources or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
- 1-2 years' experience coordinating and delivering training initiatives, developing learning content, and supporting career development programs.
- Ability to adapt training strategies to different learning styles and audience needs.
- Certification in training and development or HR (e.g., CPLP, CPTM, PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and organizational policies, with emphasis on learning and development, employee engagement, and training program design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting, presentations, and training material creation.
- Familiarity with HRIS and Learning Management Systems (LMS); experience creating, delivering, and tracking training programs, as well as generating learning and workforce development reports.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple L&D projects simultaneously.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to design and present training materials and foster strong working relationships across a diverse workforce.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision or with a team and complete projects within specified deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
