Position: Medical Assistant - Mt. Airy- Full-Time with Benefits
Location: Mount Airy

Position Overview

The Medical Assistant (MA) performs clinical duties and some administrative functions under the direction of medical group providers. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examination, taking and recording vital signs, collecting patient histories, and assisting with various procedures.

  • Assisting with various procedures.
  • Performing other duties as directed by medical providers.
Qualifications
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills toward patients of different age categories.
  • Ability to model sensitivity to patients, including effective telephone and verbal communication in emergency situations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Pass all competencies related to Medical Assistant duties.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients from neonate to geriatric.
  • Excellent customer relations skills, avoiding antagonism, conflicts, and undue anxiety.
  • Keyboard/computer skills.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • Multi-lingual applicants encouraged; diverse workforce valued.
Preferred (but not required)
  • Medical Assistant certification.
  • Emergency Medical Technician certification.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Compensation

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under FLSA will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or overtime paid, if applicable.

Pay range:
Hourly Rate $19.16–$27.77

Schedule

Monday through Friday 7:30 am–4:00 pm with one late night on Wednesday.
