Medical Assistant
Chesapeake Specialty Care is seeking an enthusiastic, full-time, experienced Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This position offers opportunities to expand into new roles and responsibilities while supporting a dynamic physician-led practice.
This role rotates between four office locations —
Owings Mills, Rosedale, Westminster, and Columbia — and requires reliable travel between sites as part of the regular schedule. Work hours are Monday through Friday
, scheduled within the business hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
, in 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
No weekends required.
- Escort and interview patients, documenting medical history and presenting concerns.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs.
- Perform clinical support tasks and assist medical staff with procedures.
- Process prescription orders through the EHR.
- Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones and taking messages.
- Pull charts, organize, and file paperwork as needed.
- Adapt to different office workflows while maintaining consistent quality of care across locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of obtaining pre-authorizations for procedures.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to different practice locations.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between Owings Mills, Westminster, Columbia, and Rosedale offices as scheduled.
- High School Diploma required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
