Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric care across multiple clinical locations, including Oakland, Grantsville, Westernport, and Bruceton, Maryland. Under the general direction of the Medical Director of Behavioral Health and the Chief Medical Officer, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric services within the scope of practice allowed by the State of Maryland.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will support patients experiencing psychiatric disorders, emotional distress, and substance use disorders while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

$130,000 – $155,000 annually

• Provide direct psychiatric patient care across multiple outpatient and inpatient clinical settings.
• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and formulate accurate diagnoses through clinical evaluation and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Develop, implement, and manage individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications, educating patients on benefits and potential side effects.
• Collaborate effectively with medical leadership, provider staff, and executive teams to support organizational goals and quality initiatives.
• Participate in peer review processes and ensure compliance with quality measures and documentation standards.
• Attend provider meetings, town halls, committees, and other assigned team responsibilities.
• Provide consultation to healthcare team members on behavioral health aspects of patient care.
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development to remain current in psychiatric and behavioral health practices.
• Participate in value-based care programs, accountable care initiatives, grant-related projects, and patient-centered medical home (PCMH) activities.
• Provide crisis intervention services and collaborate with emergency and crisis response teams as needed.
• Uphold ethical standards and demonstrate commitment to patient-focused care, respect, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and integrity.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry as an MD, DO, or CRNP with PMHNP certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Master’s-level Nurse Practitioner program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct psychiatric services preferred; community health center experience strongly desired.
• Strong understanding of clinical operations and collaborative care models.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with patients, providers, leadership, and external agencies.
• Current or eligible certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications encouraged.
• Ability to travel locally, statewide, or out-of-state up to 25% as required.
