We are seeking a highly experienced PRT Benefit Calculations Lead / Actuarial Systems SME to support Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) annuity business. This role is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining complex pension benefit calculations across new and legacy Group Annuity Contracts (GACs). The role partners closely with Pricing, Legal, Administration, Technology vendors (e.g., Procentia), and Audit teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and audit‑ready benefit calculations within Pro Admin and Intelli Pen platforms.
This position is ideal for an actuarial or senior calculation professional who acts as a technical authority and SME across PRT administration.
- Design and code new GAC benefit calculations in Pro Admin
- Identify and document all data elements required for benefit calculations
- Prepare and validate sample calculation requests
- Perform sample calculation matching, resolve discrepancies, and lead client Q&A
- Review legal plan documents and incorporate learnings into calculation logic
- Act as Pro Admin Calculation Certification technical expert
- Support and review Procentia‑developed coding, including independent testing
- Design and execute Intelli Pen benefit calculation testing GAC‑specific features
- Errors, warnings, and validation checks Intelli Pen Pro Admin data linkage
- Support GAC 10125+ testing and documentation
- Draft Plan Specifications for new GACs
- Maintain and update legacy GAC plan specifications
- Design and contribute to BAU calculation administration documentation
- Provide BAU calculation support, including red/yellow (exception) calculations
- Newly onboarded GACs
- Provide ongoing technical Pro Admin and actuarial support
- Act as a resource actuary for pension and benefit calculation issues
- Support data migration for deferred benefit populations
- Collaborate with Pricing to develop migration data files
- Support vendors in interpreting benefit data
- Create and review migration milestone date files
- Sequence deferred calculation priorities by complexity and population size
- Liaise with Pricing on technical and actuarial interpretation issues
- Support audit activities as calculation/testing SME
- Support paperwork implementation and Pro Admin Desktop Fulfillment Tool processes
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or related field
- ASA required; FSA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of experience in PRT, annuity administration, or pension benefit calculations
- Deep expertise in PRT annuity and defined benefit pension calculations
- Advanced experience with Pro Admin benefit calculation configuration
- Experience with Intelli Pen testing and validation
- Strong understanding of plan documents and legal benefit provisions
- Experience working with third‑party administrators (e.g., Procentia)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Ability to manage complex, audit‑sensitive calculations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- FSA designation
- Prior experience acting as calculation SME or certification lead
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory reviews
- Exposure to large‑scale data migrations
