Job Description Your substantial electronics experience and in-depth technical knowledge allows you to overcome complex challenges that require prompt, on-the-job decision making skills, a high level of leadership, and professional communication skills. You are just as comfortable in a lab - teaching proper electronic circuit board assembly - as you are in Yokosuka, Japan, leading troubleshooting efforts on a previously unknown and particularly elusive AN/UPX-29(V) IFF system integration problem while under close customer observation.

Your breadth of experience influences others to consistently seek you out for your ability to quickly grasp and understand - on a deeply technical level - the issues at hand and you deftly point out solutions. Specific examples of expected tasking is as follows:

* Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the AN/UPX-29(V) IFF System by directly supporting the IFF ISEA in a broad spectrum of work. Such tasking may include onsite test events, system assessments, Fleet Modernization Program installations, answering technical questions from junior sailors, and actively promoting the dissemination of knowledge to your junior peers.

* Act as the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Lead during shipboard installations in accordance with the requirements of NAVSEA's TS().

* Successfully plan and conduct AIT Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) check-in and check-out processes.

* Spearhead the technical and professional development of your team, actively grooming them to be the next generation of SME's.

* Provide detailed and in-depth training to shipboard IFF system technicians on the AN/UPX-29(V) system upgrades installed by your team.

* Provide technical services in support of the AN/UPX-29(V) Interrogator System during grooms, Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT), Material Condition Assessments (MCA), and Aegis Light-Off Assessments (ALOA).

* Interface directly with ship's force department heads and other high level leadership to provide status updates and recommend corrective action.

Must be willing to travel 25-35% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore-based system installations and test events and will work onboard ships to accomplish assignments. Must be comfortable climbing to go aloft for antenna inspections and lifting/carrying heavy objects. May be required to work overtime hours or weekends to support installations and test events and will occasionally perform work in disagreeable environmental conditions.

What we offer:

* Competitive wages -$28- 43/hour (Depending on experience)

* Working on a team committed to getting the job done right
