Senior Electrical Engineer (10-15 years)

Job Description
Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in consulting engineering and project management for our DC Metro office. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals, take a proactive role in marketing and business development, and help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidisciplinary office.
This candidate will provide consulting services directly to clients.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for industrial, higher education, healthcare, federal government, and commercial projects.
- Manage and design multiple concurrent projects.
- Interpret technical drawings and lead design team efforts.
- Manage project team for budget and schedule control.
- Develop fee and qualification-based proposals.
- Conduct marketing and business development activities.
Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (required).
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software.
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC, and other electrical codes and standards.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Project Management experience and/or certifications.
- Ability to travel.
Compensation and Benefits
- Approximate base salary $120k-170k based on experience.
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
- Competitive end‑year discretionary bonus based on company, team, and personal performance.
- Hybrid work schedule (subject to change).
- 401(k) with maximum 5% contribution matching for 9% employee contribution.
