Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chemical Engineer to join a dedicated, multidisciplinary team of chemists, chemical engineers, materials scientists, and physicists. At APL, you will work directly with experienced scientists and engineers to further the application of chemistry to national security problems.

- Help design, build, and test chemical sensors and test systems
- Develop novel methods for chemical detection
- Mentor junior staff and interns
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you…
- Have an Masters in Chemical Engineering
- Have at least one year technical experience in chemical engineering
- Have experience in chemical processes for critical mineral extraction
- Experience in synthesizing and characterizing inorganic materials
- Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
- Are experienced with scaling up chemical separation devices
- Are experienced with electrochemical processes for chemial separations
- Demonstrate ability to innovate through patents and or scientific publications
